FAQ

Straight answers to the questions people ask most about Quantum Wallet.

Getting started

The basics of Quantum Wallet

What is Quantum Wallet and how is it different from an exchange?
Quantum Wallet is a non-custodial crypto wallet for iOS, Android and desktop. "Non-custodial" means the private keys that control your funds are generated and stored only on your device — Quantum never holds them, never sees them and cannot move, freeze or lose your assets. An exchange, by contrast, holds your crypto on your behalf: convenient, but you are trusting a company with your money, and withdrawals can be paused or accounts frozen. With Quantum you get the same easy experience you'd expect from a modern fintech app — live prices, one-tap swaps, buying with cards or bank transfer — while remaining the only owner of your crypto. You can still send funds to and from any exchange whenever you like.
Is Quantum Wallet free?
Yes. Downloading Quantum, creating unlimited wallets, holding assets and receiving crypto are completely free. When you send, you pay only the blockchain network fee. Swaps, bridges and card purchases carry small, clearly displayed fees, and optional Pro and Business plans unlock advanced tools.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Your crypto lives on the blockchain, not on your phone. As long as you have your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase, you can install Quantum on any new device, tap "Import wallet", enter the phrase and your full balance reappears in seconds. If you enabled encrypted cloud backup, your wallet names, address book and settings are restored too. Because nobody can open the app without your Face ID, fingerprint or PIN, a thief who takes your phone can't access your wallet. The one thing that can't be recovered is a lost recovery phrase with no backup — which is why Quantum walks you through backing it up safely when you create your wallet, and reminds you until you've done it.
Which cryptocurrencies does Quantum support?
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Tron, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base and more — covering 10,000+ tokens including USDT, USDC and popular DeFi and meme tokens, plus NFTs.
How do I add crypto to my wallet?
There are three easy ways. First, receive: tap Receive, choose the coin and network, and share your QR code or address with the sender or exchange. Second, buy: tap Buy and pay with a debit card or bank transfer through our trusted on-ramp partners — the crypto lands straight in your wallet. Third, swap: if you already hold one asset you can exchange it for another in seconds. Always double-check the network when receiving; Quantum highlights it clearly to help you avoid sending on the wrong chain.
Can I use Quantum on more than one device?
Yes. Import the same recovery phrase on your phone, tablet or the Quantum browser extension and every device shows the same wallets. Each device keeps its own encrypted copy of your keys, protected by its own biometric lock or PIN.
Can I import a wallet from another app?
Absolutely. Quantum supports standard BIP-39 recovery phrases and private keys, so you can import wallets created in most other self-custody apps and see all your balances instantly.
Which currencies can I see prices in?
Portfolio values and prices can be shown in USD, EUR, GBP and dozens more local currencies, updated live with market data.
How do I contact support?
Tap Help in the app to chat with a real person 24/7, or email support@quantumwallet.app. We will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key or password — anyone who does is a scammer.
Does Quantum work on desktop?
Yes. Alongside the iOS and Android apps, the Quantum browser extension works on Chrome, Brave and Edge, and WalletConnect lets you connect your mobile wallet to any desktop dApp.

Fees & transactions

Payments, swaps and staking

How are fees calculated?
Every transaction on a blockchain requires a network fee paid to the miners or validators who process it. Quantum never marks this up. When you send crypto, the network fee is the only cost, and Quantum estimates it in real time so you can choose between slower-and-cheaper or faster options where the network allows. For swaps, bridges and card purchases, a small Quantum or partner fee applies — and it is always shown as a separate line, in plain numbers, before you confirm. There are no hidden spreads buried in the exchange rate and no charges for holding or receiving crypto. See our pricing page for the full, current fee table.
Why is my transaction still pending?
Transactions can take longer when a network is busy or when a low fee was selected. Quantum shows the live status of every transfer, and on supported networks you can speed up or cancel a pending transaction with a single tap.
How do swaps work and are they safe?
When you swap, Quantum's smart router checks prices across leading decentralised exchanges and aggregators, picks the best route and shows you exactly how much you'll receive, the minimum guaranteed amount after slippage and all fees. You approve the transaction on your own device and the swap executes directly on the blockchain — your funds never pass through a Quantum account. Verified-token lists hide known fake tokens, and transaction simulation shows the expected outcome before you sign. As with any on-chain activity, only swap tokens you understand, and keep slippage settings sensible for volatile assets.
Can I cancel a transaction?
Once a transaction is confirmed on the blockchain it cannot be reversed by anyone — including Quantum. That's why we show a clear summary and simulation before every signature.
How does staking work in Quantum?
Staking lets you help secure proof-of-stake networks such as Ethereum, Solana and BNB Chain in exchange for rewards. In Quantum you choose an asset, pick from our vetted validators or liquid-staking partners and confirm. Your assets stay under your control, rewards appear in real time and you can unstake whenever the network rules allow. Quantum's commission is taken only from rewards earned.
Can I buy and sell crypto with my bank account?
Yes. Quantum connects you to trusted on-ramp partners so you can buy crypto with bank transfers or cards in your local currency and sell back to your bank account. Rates and fees are shown in full before you confirm, and there is no minimum to hold or receive crypto in your wallet — buy minimums depend on the partner and are displayed in the app.

Security & company

Keeping you and your funds safe

How does Quantum keep my wallet secure?
Security is built into every layer. Your recovery phrase and private keys are generated offline on your device, encrypted with AES-256 and stored inside the phone's secure hardware enclave. Opening the app requires Face ID, fingerprint or PIN. Before you sign anything, Quantum simulates the transaction and explains in plain language what will happen to your assets. Known phishing websites are blocked in the dApp browser, suspicious tokens are hidden, unlimited token approvals are flagged and you can revoke permissions from a single screen. Our code undergoes independent security review, core libraries are open for public inspection, and a public bug bounty rewards researchers who help us stay ahead of attackers.
Can Quantum freeze or recover my funds?
No. Because Quantum is non-custodial, we cannot freeze, move or reverse anything in your wallet — and we can't recover a lost recovery phrase. That's what makes your crypto truly yours.
Do you collect my personal data?
Creating and using a wallet requires no personal information. We collect only minimal, anonymous analytics you can switch off in settings, and we never sell data. Identity verification is only needed if you choose to buy or sell crypto with fiat, and it is handled by our regulated on-ramp partners in line with local law and data-protection regulations.
Is Quantum regulated?
Quantum Wallet is software that helps you manage your own assets; fiat on- and off-ramps are provided by licensed payment partners in each supported country.
Is there a Quantum token?
No. Quantum has no token and will never ask you to buy one. Any "Quantum token" or airdrop you see is a scam — please report it to our team.
Where is Quantum based?
Quantum Wallet is built by a remote-first team. Company address and registration details: [add your company details here].
Can businesses use Quantum?
Yes. The Business plan adds multi-signature vaults, team roles and approvals, crypto payment links and accounting exports. It's ideal for startups, merchants, DAOs and communities that need shared control of funds without handing custody to a third party. Contact our team for a free walkthrough and we'll help you set up your workspace in a day.
Do you offer an API or SDK?
Our Enterprise plan includes a white-label wallet SDK plus APIs and webhooks so fintechs and platforms can offer non-custodial wallets to their own users. Developers get sandbox access, documentation and direct support from our engineering team during integration.
Where can I find the documentation?
User guides and video tutorials live in the in-app Help Centre and on our blog. Developer documentation for the SDK and APIs is available to Enterprise and partner teams — contact sales and we'll share access along with a sandbox environment for testing.
